Our
Story
Get to Know Us
At Sound Roots, every session is designed to be sensory-informed and client-led. Therapy is centered around each child’s unique interests and play, creating an experience that is engaging, comfortable, and enjoyable. While the approach is warm and flexible, it is always grounded in evidence-based strategies to ensure meaningful progress.

Our goal is not only to support children in session, but also to empower families with the tools and education they need to carry therapy into everyday life. Sound Roots is built on the values of safety, support, and collaboration — making families feel truly seen and cared for throughout their journey.
Our Values
Whole-child approach
Sound Roots sees every child as more than a diagnosis, considering their strengths, needs, sensory profile, and personality to create therapy that supports the whole child.
Connection over compliance
At Sound Roots, authentic connection with every child is prioritized. Relationship and trust come before demands, because true growth happens when children feel safe and respected.
Sensory-informed support
Sound Roots recognizes the role of sensory regulation in communication and learning, and uses supports that help children feel safe, calm, and ready to grow.
Family empowerment
Sound Roots partners with families by providing education, resources, and strategies so progress continues long after the session ends.
Child-led play
Therapy at Sound Roots follows each child’s unique interests and passions, making sessions engaging, enjoyable, and truly effective.
Meet the SLP
Jennifer Wells, M.S. CCC-SLP
Hi, I’m Jennifer (Jenny) Wells, the speech-language pathologist behind Sound Roots Pediatric Therapy. I specialize in helping children with speech, language, AAC, feeding, and literacy needs grow into confident, connected communicators. With years of experience supporting children with autism, dyslexia, cerebral palsy, phonological disorders, and more, I bring both clinical expertise and a compassionate, flexible, individualized approach to every session. My philosophy is simple: when therapy feels safe, supportive, and engaging, children make the strongest progress. I partner closely with families to ensure strategies carry over into daily life, so gains made in therapy take root at home, at school, and beyond.
